Late to bed and early to rise

Normally, I'm an early riser. Most weekdays, I'm awake at about 5-530am, I'm off to the gym by about 6 and at work most days around 730. This works fine for me.

When I travel, regardless of the direction, it's much worse. I'm in EST at the moment and I've been functionally awake since 330am local time. (I say functionally because I lay in bed refusing toopen my eyes for at least 30 minutes before giving in to the inevitable.)

Since breakfast at the hotel isn't available until 6am, I spent my time: a) emailing my sweety, b) ironing my clothes, c) reading the FREE newspaper and d) reviewing my notes for the day.

There should be an early-morning club for people like me.

A busiess trip to Montreal - Live Blog

Well, to start - I really hate traveling in winter. I think one should stay home and relax until spring.

5pm - My flight was supposed to leave at 610PM. Guess what? We're leaving at 7PM. Luckily, though, we still have SkyCheck so I won't have to wait for luggage on the other side. Bored now.

630pm - Another delay. Apparently, weather in Toronto is delaying flights out and, surprise, my Montreal equipment is coming from there. Arghh. Apparently, last night they gave up and cancelled all flights. If they're going to do that, I hope they do it soon.

7:40 - Well, they didn't as at this point I'm in the air (1h20 late).

7:50EST - In Montreal and, can I just say, thank ZOD for a little thing called SkyCheck. My only other bag was waiting at the bottom of the plane's stairs (Small jets still deplane on the tarmac in Montreal) and BAM I'm on my way.

830pm - I'm safely ensconced in the Holiday Inn on Sherbrooke. Don't laugh, my employer gets a good rate. 16th floor, reasonably quiet. Miss R something fierce (the first time we been apart overnight in close to 2 years!)

Tomorrow, I try to cram what should be a week's review of the Rational Unified Process into one day. Wish me luck, kittens.
